The Marine Administration has received many enquiries on the subject of piracy affecting shipping in the Indian Ocean region.  In particular, there have been many enquiries relating to the carriage of armed security personnel.  After discussions with a number of owners, insureres, law firms and administrations the Bermuda Maritime Administration has prepared the guidance set out in Shipping Notice 2011-012.  This is now available to read or download from the downloads section of this website.
